This is a nutrional tomato dish which can be prepared instantly after somebody comes home, used for a picnic or as a starter- recreate the experience of going out to a restaurant.
Ingredients
Ripe Tomatoes (4 Medium sized)
Green Chillies 2 or 3
Green Corriander Leaves a handful
Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp
Haldi (Turmeric) Powder 1/2 tsp
Mustard for seasoning 1/2 tsp
A pinch of hing
Fenugreek Seeds - quarter tsp.
Red Chilli 2 Nos. (broken)
Dhania and jeera powder (optional)
Curry Leaves 3 or 4
Besan 1 tsp.
Salt to taste (half to three fourth of a tsp)
Oil 2 or 3 tsp.
Directions
Wash Ripe Tomatoes and dice them to pieces. Wash Green Chilli, Corriander leaves Curry Leaves.
1). Place a frying pan on gas stove and add 2 to 3 tsp cooking oil to it.
2). Add Mustard seeds, red broken chilli, hing, methi seeds and let them splutter/crackle.
3). Add the cut ripe tomato pieces and then fry for a while after 2 minutes add the green chilli.
3). Fry for a few minutes more and then add haldi powder, red chilli powder, salt, dhania powder, jeera powder and let it cook to a soft texture.
4). Add one to one and half cups of water.
5). Add gram flour to a bit of water and make a pouring consistency and add this to the recipe.
6). Add few corriander leaves and serve with rice.
